Bridges
Anchor 1

A crown is a dental restoration that completely covers a tooth. It is used to cover and protect a tooth that has a healthy root but is damaged or weakened on the surface. Crowns may be used for broken teeth, a tooth with an old filling, a tooth damaged by cavities, or a tooth that has a problem that leaves it vulnerable to cracking.

A dental bridge is a permanent treatment to replace a missing tooth. When you have a bridge put in place an artifical tooth is anchored to the two neighboring teeth. The anchor teeth are fitted with crowns. It typically takes three visits to complete the bridge procedure. During your first visit, Dr. Bornstein will prepare the teeth involved, will take an impression, and will fit you with a temporary bridge. The actual bridge will be made by a skilled ceramist in a dental laboratory. At the following visits, your permanent bridge will be tried in and cemented in place.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental treatment that can substantially improve the brightness and whiteness of your teeth. Although whitening is not a permanent solution and requires "touch-ups" for a prolonged effect, it remains one of the fastest and easiest ways to improve the appearance of your smile.

Clear Aligners

Invisalign is a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist  plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You simply pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete and you achieve the confident smile that you've always wanted. The best part about the whole process is that most people won't even know you're straightening your teeth.

White Fillings
Anchor 2

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.

Dental implants are so natural-looking and feeling, you may forget you ever lost a tooth.  Your confidence about your teeth affects how you feel about yourself, both personally and professionally.  Perhaps you hide your smile because of spaces from missing teeth.   Maybe your dentures don't feel secure. Perhaps you have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, there is good news! Dental implants are teeth that can look and feel just like your own!

White fillings, made up of porcelain and resin composite, look natural and restore strength to your teeth.    White fillings are bonded directly to the affected tooth and can be custom colored to precisely match each individual’s teeth.   Unlike silver amalgam fillings, a dentist only needs to remove the decayed portion of the tooth because the bond anchors the material tightly in place.

Instead of settling for a smile riddled with silver and gold, white fillings are an attractive way to make your teeth look beautiful and keep them healthy.   Dr. Bornstein can even remove old silver and gold fillings and replace them with more natural-looking white fillings.

Up until just recently, amalgam was the most commonly used material to treat cavities.   But since the discovery of dental-safe porcelain and composite resin, more patients are leaving the dentist office with a healthier, more attractive smile.

Nightguards

Veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic (porcelain) material, which are bonded to the front of teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth. Veneers are placed to mask discolorations, to brighten teeth and to improve a smile.

Veneers are an excellent alternative to crowns in many situations. They provide a much more conservative approach to changing a tooth's color, size or shape. Veneers can mask undesirable defects, such as teeth stained by tetracycline and damage due to an injury or as a result of a root-canal procedure. They are ideal for masking discolored fillings in front teeth. Patients with gaps between their front teeth or teeth that are chipped or worn may consider veneers.

Nightguards are the primary treatment for patients who suffer from bruxism, or teeth grinding. Some people may do this consciously during the day, but it is a larger problem at night while you are asleep. Grinding your teeth can damage enamel, wear down teeth, cause jaw pain, or irritate your gums. The noise from teeth grinding can also disturb your spouse's sleep, if loud enough.
A nightguard, which is very similar to a mouth guard worn by athletes, provides a barrier between your top and bottom teeth while you sleep. All night guards are custom fitted for comfort and to allow for proper breathing. Your dentist will take an impression of your teeth and have the night guard created by a dental lab.
If you suspect you might be grinding your teeth at night set up an appointment with us today.
