How often should I see the dentist?

Children and adults with healthy gums and no evidence of periodontal disease should visit the dentist every six months for an exam and prophylaxis (cleaning).    However, if you have a history of periodontal disease, or a predisposition to developing periodontal disease, it is usually recommended that you have cleanings at 3 - 4 month intervals.

Our dental staff will be able to assess your specific condition after a review of your medical history and a periodontal exam and charting.

How often should I have X-rays?

The frequency of getting X-rays of your teeth is related to your dental history and current condition. Some may need X-rays as often as every six months; others with no recent dental or gum disease, and who visit their dentist regularly may get X-rays only every couple of years.

If you are a new patient, we may take X-rays as part of the initial exam and to establish a baseline record from which to compare changes that may occur over time.

What kind of dental insurance plans do you accept?

We work with most major PPO plans.   Please call and speak to our office manager for more detailed information about your specific plan.

What is Dental insurance?
Dental insurance is meant to be an aid in receiving dental care.  Most dental insurance plans pay between 50%-100% of the average total fee.   The percentage paid is usually determined by how much you or your employer has paid for coverage or the type of contract your employer has set up with the insurance company.
